How to attempt PDF repair

  1. Inspect the damage

Choose a damaged PDF that the local engine can still read.

  2. Check the recovery

Inspect the recovery report and the verified page previews.

  3. Review and save

Download the recovered copy if the checks pass.

Before you save

  • Use a PDF up to 100 MB and 500 pages. Password-protected, digitally signed, scripted, XFA and unsupported files are refused.
  • Recovery is limited to readable document objects. The tool checks the saved copy against what it can recover, including page content and supported document structures.
  • Missing original bytes or pages cannot be recreated or proven complete. Read the report and compare against a trusted original if available.

Questions about PDF recovery

Can every damaged PDF be repaired?

No. Recovery depends on the objects and page content that remain readable. Files that fail the checks are refused.

Does a successful check prove nothing is missing?

No. It verifies the saved copy against content recovered from the input. Content already missing from that input cannot be proven recovered.
