How to summarise a PDF

  1. Choose your pages

Choose a PDF, page range and document language.

  2. Review key passages

Find key passages and review each source page. Optionally generate a local AI summary.

  3. Save your summary

Download the reviewed summary as text or a new PDF.

Before you save

  • Use up to 50 MB and 200 source pages; summarise up to 50 selected pages and 250,000 characters at a time.
  • Key passages are extracted sentences, not generated text. Scans require OCR and complex reading order needs review.
  • Generative AI depends on browser, language and hardware support, and is limited here to 24,000 selected characters. It can make mistakes.

Questions about PDF summaries

Can I check where a passage came from?

Yes. Every extracted passage links to its source page in the preview. AI-generated text is shown separately and needs review.

Does the summary work without AI?

Yes. Source-linked key passages work locally without a model download. Optional browser AI has separate setup and availability checks.
