How to edit existing PDF text
- Choose a PDF and the page you want to edit.
- Select existing text, make a short correction and preview the result.
- Keep the changes you approve, then download a separate PDF copy.
Before you save
- Use a PDF up to 100 MB and 500 pages. The editor supports short, horizontal, left-to-right text lines; scans, signed or encrypted files and unsupported page structures cannot be edited.
- The original font and text size are reused where supported. Any font substitution or width adjustment is shown before you keep a change. Text does not reflow onto other lines.
- Supported annotations, links and page formatting are retained. Tagged PDFs support only validated capitalisation changes to up to four A–Z letters at a time; unsupported edits are refused. Text extraction order can change in untagged PDFs.
Useful details
Does this change the original PDF?
No. Edits are kept in browser memory and downloaded as a separate copy. Review each preview before keeping the change.
Can I edit a scanned page?
This editor changes existing PDF text. Text in an image, including the image text of a searchable scan, cannot be rewritten here.
Will my font and notes be preserved?
The editor reuses supported fonts and retains supported annotations. If it needs a replacement font or a small width adjustment, you can review that before keeping the edit. Text beneath an annotation, link or unsupported content is refused.
Can I edit any paragraph?
Edits are made to short text lines. Complex scripts, rotated text and changes that cannot fit safely are refused. Use the preview to check equations, columns and neighbouring content.
