What Happens to Your File

Your browser decodes your signature photo locally and evaluates every pixel's perceived luminance against your paper cutoff threshold and edge-feathering range.

Paper pixels above the threshold become 100% transparent, ink strokes remain opaque (with optional recolouring to a uniform dark blue, black or custom ink), and the cleaned signature is exported as a transparent PNG or passed directly to Sign a PDF in browser session storage.

Limits

• Accepts PNG or JPEG images up to 10 MB and 25 megapixels.
• Luminance threshold adjusts from 20 to 252 (default 205) and soft edge feathering adjusts from 1 to 120 (default 35).
• Designed for dark ink written on lighter unlined paper; heavy grid lines, patterned backgrounds or dark shadows across the ink strokes may require cropping the photo first.

Good to Know

• Sign on plain white unlined paper in good lighting and crop closely around your signature for the cleanest one-step background removal.
• Enable monochrome ink recolouring when indoor lighting makes black or blue pen ink look patchy or grey.
• Click Use in Sign a PDF to carry the transparent PNG straight into Sign a PDF without saving an intermediate file.
