What Happens to Your File

OxnaPDF renders your PDF page locally in the browser so you can click to place, drag, resize and style new multiline text boxes without uploading your document.

When you prepare the copy, the local engine writes your text into the page content streams of a new PDF in browser memory using standard PDF fonts, leaving your original PDF unchanged on your device.

Limits

  • Accepts unencrypted, untagged PDFs up to 100 MB, 500 pages and 150,000 objects, with up to 1,000 placed items per session.
  • Each text box accepts up to 5,000 Western Latin characters in Sans-serif, Serif or Monospace (regular, bold or italic), sizes 8 pt to 72 pt, with left, centre or right alignment; text that overflows its box height is refused so lines are never clipped.
  • Digitally signed, XFA, Collection and scripted PDFs are refused.

Good to Know

  • Use Add Text to PDF when you want to type onto blank spaces or flat non-interactive lines; if you need to fix a typo inside an existing PDF sentence, use Edit PDF Text instead.
  • If you want to create clickable form fields that someone else can fill in later, use PDF Forms rather than static text boxes.
  • Need to add highlights, rectangles, freehand ink or sticky notes alongside your text boxes? Open Annotate PDF for the full markup toolbar.
